Since its humble beginning with two branches in 1971, Hana Financial Group has increased the number of outlets in its domestic and overseas network to 1,009 as of December 2020, and it is thus set to become one of the largest financial groups in Korea.
In 1991, Korea Investment & Finance was converted into a commercial bank with KRW 1.5 trillion in total assets. The volume of total assets has surged 232-fold to reach KRW 460 trillion in total assets as of the end of December 2020.
In 1998, Hana Bank was ranked 578th among The Banker's Top 1000 World Banks. A mere 22 years later, Hana Financial Group stands at 81th worldwide, based on Tier 1 capital.
